Game 42 scores

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have an unprecedented standings situation. We are almost 2/3rds of the way through the AHL regular season and all 11 active teams are currently sitting in a playoff position! Never seen it before, and probably never will again, (after this year that is).

We're gonna kick things off with the games from the No-Show league (If you don't get that reference, I highly suggest watching Shoresy on Crave)

The Sting forgot to show up for the second straight game, giving team Ass Kicker no one to take their frustrations out on. Joe did have a much better output on the empty net this time around and defeat the Sting 6-0 for the sweep. Sting have lost 4 straight (3 no shows in that span) while the victory leapfrogs Kickass into sole possession of 6th.

The Oles were too busy wining and dining his Mommy, lost track of time and forgot to make his way down to the rink. By the time he realized his error, the game was already underway, and his night was over. Posse show no mercy and take them out 5.5 - 0. Oles are mired in a 6 game winless streak, while the Posse have won 9 straight and are 2 points out of second.

The Flash extended their unbeaten streak to 4 with a 1-0 victory, and move into a 4 way tie for the final spot.

Now we'll go to the games that were actually played, though none of them were very close.

In the second leg of their back to back, goaltending made the biggest difference for the Avs and VB's. The Av's WPG goalies gave up 1 goal vs the VB's DAL giving up 5. That along with a resurgent Seguin's 2 goals sunk the Bombers hopes of a split. Avs take it 4.5 to 0.5 and move into sole possession of 4th, while the Bombers remain in a tie for 8th.

Who needs McDavid??? The Wai's Guys coach gave a loud motivational speech to the team heading into the game, knowing they would need a full team effort against the Doctors without McD in the lineup. And it worked! With scoring from all 6 forwards, lead by Horvat's 2,1, the Wai's Guys take out the Witch Doctors by a score of 8-5.5. Wai's are now in that tie for 8th, and the Docs fall to 5th.

The final game of the night featured the high boy score. Prior to the first game of the B2B, the Foundation were whining that nobody keeps track of the highboy anymore, and he was sure he had the most. Well, the Dutchies decided to lay down the lumber in the series, tieing for high boy in game 1 (7) and then doubling down and talking the 2nd game by a score of 9-4.5. Dutchies were lead by the D, who put up a combined 3 goals and 3 assists. Dutchies extend their first place lead to 5 points and are on a 6 game heater, while the Foundation lose ground and are now only 2 points ahead of the Posse for 2nd while on a 3 game losing streak.

First Star - Horvat leads the way for the Guys with 2,1 pushing them into a playoff spot
Second Star - Seguin goes off for 2 and the Avs jump into a home ice playoff spot
Third Star - Sid the Kid leads the way as the Dutchies sit in first
