Welcome back to the Hart Dungeon Ladies and Gentlemen!
After a long layoff and a wicked hangover from celebrating Grapes' aka Don Cherry's 90th birthday, it's good to be back in the commentary chair.
Let this session be a lesson to all you 'pencil neck geeks' who do the bare minimum when scoring and just input the scores.
This baby's coming down to the wire and both the top and middle of the standings are still up for grabs...

The Dutchies continue their march to the President's cup against a cowering Sting squad. Oh, Sting put his lineup in on time tonight, but his players missed puck drop and out of his whole team of 10 playing, he got outstanding production...from two players who put up a solid 1 each. Unfortunately, Boston goalies also let in a -1.5, so Sting finishes the night with a 0.5 score. Dutchies get 1.5's from four of their players and despite a -3 from Edmonton goalies, still puts up a respectable 5. This one was never close. Dutchies win 5 - 0.5.
The second game of the evening saw the Flashers vying for a playoff spot facing off against the (once) Mighty Oles. Already pretty much eliminated from playoff contention, the Oles lack the motivation to roll out of bed and put their pants on. The Flash celebrate, while his playoff competition curses. Flash win this one easily 3.5 - 0
In the age-old question of what is mightier, a swift kick in the ass, or some badass voodoo, both the Kickass of Joe and the Witch Doctors hope it's their respective craft as the doctors fight for their playoff lives, while the Kickass are looking to improve their standings. Both teams exchange blows of 1.5's and 2's, but the Kickass makes Red Foreman proud firmly cementing his foot in the Doctors' ass. The Doctors are on the ropes after the Kickass lay an 8 to 4 beating down.
The second game of the evening with potential implications for the top of the pops saw the up and down Foundation facing off against the jockeying Avs. This game went back and fourth all day/night. High scoring on both sides coming down to the final game of the evening to decide it all. With the crappy Sharks only able to score one goal, the Avs squeak out a much needed victory 6.5 to 6. The Foundation are all but eliminated from President's Cup contention, while the Avs maintain their 2 point lead over the Kickass for 4th place in the standings.
The V Bombers are putting the rest of the league on notice: they are not to be taken lightly...so long as Miller and Quinn Hughes are in the lineup! Another great performance from the Canuck-ites lead the Bombers over the Hackers 5 to 0.
The final matchup of the night had huge playoff implications as the Posse who's also chasing the Dutchies for the league championship was up against Wai's Guys who were on the outside of the dance looking in. This was another slobberknocker with blows going back and forth. The Posse pulled ahead early, and Wai's responded. In the end, the goalies decided this one with the Posse goalies letting in 2 vs Wai's goalies letting in 1.5. Wais squeeze this one out by a nose hair winning 4 to 3.5.
This is wild. There's a three-way goin on in the AHL. Maybe not the 3-way that certain managers were hoping for, but a 3-way for the 8th and final playoff spot. Everyone's running out of runway. This may be a photo finish!!
