Final Regular Season Game Empty Final Regular Season Game

Mon Feb 27, 2023 12:39 am
Well folks, here’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The final game of the regular season where the glory and disappointment of making and not making it into the playoffs and winning the championship is revealed…or is it?!?!?! Really, the scorer doesn’t know who holds the tie breakers so, at the time of this posting, I really don’t know who holds certain tie breakers but alas, I’m sure a few of you will chime in.

There was a tonne of action last night and also some controversy as well. Let’s get to the action…

Molson Cup Three Stars:
Mcdavid 2G 2A
Laine 1G 2A
Kreider 1G 1A

Doctors 3 Vs. Dutchies 4.5

The Dutchies coaches we nervous in anticipation for this matchup. Prior to the battle, the Dutchies coach flooded the toilet 3 times in a span of 20 minutes. To the Doctors, this game didn’t have much in the way of significance as his position in 5th was already cemented...or so he thought! Unfortunately for the Doctors, this laxed attitude showed throughout the game as the Dutchies took the wheel out of the gate and pummeled the Doctors all night. Although the score looked close, when your goalies score a goal and your goaltending team is net positive, it’s gotta be a sign from the hockey gods that things are going right. The Dutchies win putting them in a great position to tie the Hackers in the standings. That is, unless the Hackers win and take sole possession of 3rd…

Ole 6 Vs. Hackers 3.5

In a head scratcher, the Mighty Oles take San Jose goalies in this game…but then again, he does have #97 who is normalizing 4 game performances almost as much as….Nvm, we’ll leave that one alone 😊 The Hackers make a stellar decision temping NJ goalies, but unfortunately, that’s where his managerial impact ended. The rest of the squad couldn’t rise to the occasion despite a potential dropping to 4th place in the standings with a loss in this one. Hack got some contributions from only 4 of his skaters and that was barely enough to overcome Connor Mac. Needless to say, this was another game that wasn’t close. Oles go into the playoffs making a statement ending the Hack’s 11 game winning streak to go into the playoffs on fire. Now, if only he could have a hand in determining who the 8th place seed and his first opponent in the first round could be…

Bombers 1 Vs. Kickass 0.5

This was another huge game for jockeying in the standings. The Kickass, somehow with a deconstructed team are still a horse in this race for 8th place and a playoff birth. With everything on the line, unfortunately for the Kickass who for some reason, temped the ailing Oiler goaltenders, started this game from behind with a huge -3. The Kickass ultimately had contributions from 4 players, but it didn’t matter. The Bombers correct temp going with Colorado allowed them to achieve victory with a floppy 1 goal and 1 assist performance from his team. Even though they’re not in the running, the Bombers try their best to help their cugino, Posse into a playoff birth, depending on how the Posse faired on this night.

Sting 6.5 Vs. Posse 2.5

With the Kickass failing to live up to his namesake, the Posse’s destiny would be in his own hands. He could either ascend to the heights of glory, or pack it in and make a run next season. Unfortunately for the Posse, his game started out with an insurmountable -3 from his usually stalwart Rangers goaltending squad. As soon as the Sting saw that first score of the day, the team decided they would pummel the Posse into oblivion. Some brilliant roster changes for the Sting resulted in a relentless attack that continued throughout the night until he won the high boy and made certain that the Posse wouldn’t live to see another game…in the 2022-23 season that is…unless the Posse had the tie breaker in hand against the Kickass (which the scorer is uncertain of) 😊

Foundation 0 Vs. Flash 2

Everything happens for a reason. With the Foundation having suffered an embarrassing loss to the Dutchies the previous game, they consumed enough alcohol resulting in their misreading the schedule times and missing their lineup input by 1 minute. Little did they realize at the time, this would be a friendly gesture to the Flash to ensure they remain as docile as possible when these two combatants square off in round one of the playoffs. A preview of things to come? You bet your a@@ that’s not the case as the Foundation members are now under a strict curfew. They cant afford to miss anymore lineups…

Wais 3 Vs. Avs 3

This match was of no consequence to the standings as both of these teams have already been mathematically eliminated from making the playoffs. It was still however, one hell of a jobber match. Even though the majority of the crowd had gone home after the ending of the previous match, these guys put on one heck of a show. They went toe to toe and were flying all over the ring. Top ropes, outside, tables, ladders, chairs, the whole kit and kaboodle! At the end of the day, as entertaining as the match was, the ending was a perfect metaphor for both of these teams’ seasons. Nothing was resolved. With both teams having players with 2 points, this ended in a tie. Both ‘new’ entrants into the league put up a valiant effort, but clearly are rebuilding for next season’s run.

To all the teams that have been eliminated, it was a blast! Look forward to taking a beating from you next year, but until then…PLAYOFFS BABY!!!! All the best to all of the teams who made it through. Let the mayhem continue!!

Final Regular Season Game Empty Re: Final Regular Season Game

Great season everyone, now we see whom I pass the trophy to for next season.

as for Kickass/Posse tiebreakers if I read correctly (although now forgotten the GF rule #3)

H2H = tied 3-3
Wins = tied 27 - 27
GF in just the Posse vs Kickass 6 games = Kickass 23, Posse 16
GF overall = Posse 189, Kickass 165

Games 6, 17, 33, 34, 50, 61
