Quarter Final Game 4 Empty Quarter Final Game 4

Sun Mar 12, 2023 12:28 am
Well Gentlemen, the plot just keeps on thickening in these AHL Quarter finals.

We knew some teams would start to drop out of the race as the series progresses, but it’s the teams that are hanging around that are the story during game 4.

3 Stars:

Kucherov 1G2A
Benn 1G2A
Kopitar 3A

1 Oles Vs. 8 Kickass

The Oles come into this game sitting pretty. As projected, the number 1 seed has taken a strangle hold on the series and waltz into the arena dressed as Undertakers ready to bury their feeble opponents.  As the last Oles enter the building, the Kickass take a different approach and jump out from behind the Zambonis delivering a pipe beating not seen since Moe Sizlak on Mr Burns on the Ole’s prized #97.  Once the balaclava is ripped off, the leader of the pipe beating is former Ole Bouchard who was clearly exacting revenge for being dealt to the former expansion team.  Could the Oles actually win a game without a sizeable contribution from Mcday-bed?  Apparently not!  Keeping their bid to upset the Oles alive, the Kickass pull one out on the surprised Oles and snatch victory from death’s jaws with a score of 4 to 3.  Kickass lives to pipe another day!!!

Ole Leads series 3-1

2 Foundation Vs. 7 Flash

The other series on the brink is the Foundation Vs Flash which has seen some decent scoring from the Flasher side, it’s just that the Foundation has scored more up until this point.   The Flash showed glimpses of why they have been a threat for so many years but ultimately, even though it’s an elimination game, only get contributions from 2 of their skaters.  The feeble contributions however, were cancelled out by their goaltending team which let in a -2.  Much like the way the series ends, the Flash get shutout in this game 5.5 to 0.  During the post-game handshakes, the Foundation players thanked the Flash players for a great series.  See you next year Flash.  I’m sure the tables will be turned…Foundation are the first team to punch their ticket into the Semi-finals.  Who will their opponent be??

Foundation win series 4-0

3 Hackers Vs. 6 Doctors

Much like the Oles, the Doctors strut into game 4 on a high.  They didn’t win game 3, but they did hold the Hack attack to zero goals.  A new light of hope shone for the Doctors. If only they could hold the Hack to a low score and actually have some of their own players put some points up on the board.   Well, hate to break it to the Doctors’ fans, but they failed miserably at holding the Hack off the scoresheet. In actuality, they scored the most they have in this playoff series lead by newly acquired Patty Kane.  The Doctors did get more contributions from their players though which is a good sign. Instead of just 1 player getting points, 3 of them did this time around.  It wasn’t enough to make a dent, but if they keep multiplying the number of their players getting points, they may win another game…if they don’t run out of games to do it in.  Hack lay a beatdown to the Doctors 6.5 to 2.

Hackers leads series 3-1

4 Dutchies Vs. 5 Sting

This series has been a barn burner since the puck was dropped in Game 1.  A back and forth battle that has been pretty even the whole way.  The Sting took a 2 game lead, but the Dutchies have been chipping away having won the last tilt.  This game lived up to the billing.  There was scoring left and right and when the dust settled, the unlikeliest of heroes emerged to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.  McCann with 2 goals and Nelson with 1g1a propelled the Sting to victory.  At the end of regulation, the score was 6.5 to 6.5 however, as the Sting held the OT Trump card, they prevailed in OT.  Sting take a commanding lead in the series and push the Dutchies to the edge of the cliff.  Will there be any game 5 heroics…that remains to be seen!

Sting leads series 3-1
