Quarter Finals Game 3 Empty Quarter Finals Game 3

Tue Mar 12, 2024 1:19 am
Quarter Finals Game 3 results are in and man were there some surprises.

In terms of scoring, it was a typical tale of the haves vs the have nots.

Lets get to the results!

3 Stars:

Marchessault 3G
Hedman 2G 1A
Eichel 3A

Dutchies vs. 8 Bombers

Dutchies coming into this one had a very solid 2-0 series lead and the confidence showed from puck drop. The Bombers looked determined to change that with a win by coming out and earning what would’ve been second-to-the-highboy honours however, the Dutchies refuse to lose anything. Firing on all cylinders, the Dutchies pus the Bombers to the Brink with a 7.5 to 4 victory. Some of the Bombers player could be seen clearing out their lockers in anticipation of next season, even with their coach pleading with them that the season was far from over.

Dutchies lead series 3-0

2 Posse vs. 7 Sting

This series has been the most entertaining one of the bunch, with pure uncertainty abounding every night. Would the Posse be able to take the series lead and find themselves in a better position, matching that of their rival Dutchies, or would they become another victim on the long list of AHL upsets? This game was extremely close all night with balanced scoring across the board. Going into overtime, the score was tied 3.5 to 3.5. Who would have the upper hand and thus the tie breaker for the win? Eichel stepped up in the final minutes with his solid 3 assists (thus earning him the third star of the night). The Posse’s overtime contributor with 2 points was Panarin with 2 assists. In the end, the Sting take the game and also the lead in the series.

Sting lead series 2-1

3 Foundation vs. 6 Doctors

The Doctors come into game 3 knowing it was pretty much do or die. With the Foundation up 2 games to nil, the Doctors would have to either work their magic, or go home to choke their chickens. Apparently staring down the abyss was enough of a motivator for the Doctors to squeeze some decent production from their whole lineup. With contributions across the board, the Doctors upset the Foundation with a score of 3.5 to 2.5. Not overly dominating, but clearly enough to get the job done.

Foundation lead series 2-1

4 Avs vs. 5 Kickass

Thus far in the playoffs, the Kickass have inspired fear proving they could back up their name. The Avs on the other hand, do more damage than a bull in a China shop; to themselves that is. On this night, the Avs get contributions from only 2 skaters, which were promptly cancelled out by their goalies’ -2.5. The Kickass on the other hand, were lead by Marchessault’s 3 goal performance. No to be outdone by the Dutchies, the Kickass also put up a big 7.5 score. This game finishes in favour of the Kickass 7.5 to -0.5.

Kickass lead series 2-1
