Quarter Finals Game 2

Game 2 of the Quarter Finals was both similar and different from Game 1. The tables have turned in some of the series, while the results were more of the same in others.
No beating around the bush tonight. Let’s get to the results of Game 2
3 Stars:
Forsberg Nas 3G
Nyquist Nas 3A
Skej Car 2G
Dutchies vs. 8 Bombers
This was a golden opportunity for either team to take the ‘W’ in this game given scoring was minimal on both sides of the box scores. Goaltending advantage was slight, but still went to the Dutchies who had contributions from 4 players versus the lonely 2 contributors on the Bomber squad. When the dust settles, the Dutchies take the sweep at home and take a commanding lead in the series. The Bombers need a win soon. They’re running out of runway. Dutchies win 3 to 1.5. Bet the bombers wished they didn’t leave a hat trick on the bench tonight!

Posse vs. 7 Sting
Drawing paralells to the Leaf fans during their 2023 playoff run chanting for the Florida Panthers in the second round, so too were the Posse faithful cheering to draw the Sting in the first round. Sometimes, we ask for things we do not need, or should not want. When a semi-plug like Roy puts up a solid 1.5, you know you’re going to be in for a heck of a night. Pair that with the big -3 put up by the T-Bay goaltenders and the Posse cant help but fall in this one. Posse still manage to put up a positive score, but the end result is in the Sting’s favour by a score of 4 to 2.

Foundation vs. 6 Doctors
The Doctors were clearly out for revenge in this game. Early on in this game, it certainly looked like the Doctors would have their desired outcome come hell or high water. They led all night until late in the evening when the meanest moustache in the league decided it was time for a re-emergence potting a beautiful hatty. Had the Doctors been playing almost any other team on this night, they would’ve certainly won. Unfortunately, they didn’t play against just anyone in this game. Foundation end up swiping this one in the end with another High Boy feather in their cap winning 5.5 to 3.5.

Avs vs. 5 Kickass
The Kickass have been living up to their name the past several weeks. Many started to wonder whether the Avs would be able to win one game in this series, let alone the series itself. The series is far from over as the young Avs serve the Kickass a bit of their own medicine. It also did not help the Kickass’ cause that they left more points on the bench than they had on the ice. As the Kickass’ favourite NHL team would say though, C’est la Vie! Suck it up Buttercup!! Avs take this one 4 to 1.5.
