Quarter Finals Game 4 Empty Quarter Finals Game 4

Wed Mar 13, 2024 5:50 am
The fourth quarter final game of the series was a bit on the shorter side.  This one ended up being a bit short on the game side, but far from it on the scoring side.

It was a fun night to score the games, especially cause most of the games had a total of 3 or less goals. It was also fun seeing certain teams being pushed to the brink of elimination.

Here are the 3 stars of Game 4:

Rantanen Col 2G 2A
Kaprizov Min 2G 1A
Barkov Fla 2G 1A

Dutchies vs   8 Bombers

Up 3-0 coming into this series, the Dutchies waltz into Bomber Stadium light on their wooden clog-covered feet.  The Dutchies can smell the fresh stroopwafel and are ready to eat.  Picking up where they left off the previous game, the Bomber team showed no heart.  Their team put up a couple of points, but again, those were all but cancelled by their goalies.  Happy to have just made an appearance in this year’s playoffs, the Bombers are the first team to be eliminated and swept away like a fart in the wind.  See you next year Bombers! Dutchies win the game 4.5 to 0.5.

Dutchies win series 4-0

Posse vs   7 Sting

This series has been entertaining all the way through.  The Sting appear to have woken up for the playoffs making a couple of uncharacteristic changes to their lineup.  What’s next? A draft where he takes a prospect?  Oh the horror!!

I digress!  The Sting get contributions up and down their lineup from some likely and unlikely sources.  Lead by Eichel and the Tkachuk Bros., the Sting dominate this game from puck drop until the end of the game.  The Posse, on the other hand, are the beneficiaries of the proverbial crapping of the bed with only 3 players putting up nominal points.  This one ends in lobsided fashion with the Sting upsetting the Posse again by a score of 5 to 2.  The Posse are hanging on by a thin thread!

Sting lead series 3-1

Foundation vs   6   Doctors

After taking a must-win in Game 3, the Doctors had one heck of a swagger as they entered Voodoo Valley for Game 4.  They’d shown the Foundation could be beaten and they felt like they could do it again.  A couple of chickens choked later, and the Doctors end up with much of the same result from games 1 and 2.  They put up a valiant effort, but run into another big score of 6 from the Foundation.  Victims of their own confidence, the Doctors head back to the drawing board looking to pull something bigger than a chicken out of their a@@ in Game 5.  Foundation win 6 to 3.5.

Foundation lead series 3-1

Avs vs   5  Kickass

This has been another entertaining, albeit lobsided series.  It’s not that the Avs haven’t been putting up any half decent scores, it’s just that the once bad-luck stricken Kickass are no longer as such.  The Kickass players are scoring in bunches and as a result, the Avs, to no fault of their own are unable to keep up with Kickass’ torrid pace.  It doesn’t hurt that the Kickass had a score of 5 from just three players.  Anyways, Kickass now tied for Highboy honours with Foundation at 2 games take this one with a score of 7 to 3.  Another series on the precipice of finality, this one’s looking closer and closer to being at it’s end.

Kickass lead series 3-1
