Quarter Final Game 5 Empty Quarter Final Game 5

Mon Mar 13, 2023 6:52 pm
Game 5. The air is thick with anticipation. Will the eliminations continue on this night, or will the underdogs have their day? Will other teams punch their ticket into the final 4 or would they have to wait?

Fortunately, you don’t have to wait any longer to find out.

Here are the results for game 5!

3 Stars:

Marner 1G3A
Tkachuk 2G1A
Sandin 3A

1 Oles Vs. 8 Kickass

After witnessing the effects of not having an insurance policy in place, ie: Production from Policy #97, in Game 5, you can bet your sweet a@@ he was put into the lineup. With their playoff lives on the lines, the Kickass came out amped and ready to put up a valiant effort. Fight they did! The Kickass got great scoring from their forward group and ex-Ole Bouchard also contributed once again. Unfortunately for the Kickass though, they were betrayed Shawn Michaels kicking Janetty through the glass style by their usually stalwart Islanders goaltenders. While Ehlers was celebrating his third point of the night, the evil Sorokin snuck up on him and chopped his legs out from behind, and ripped off his Kickass jersey revealing he was wearing an Oles jersey all along. The sabotage was complete and the Oles send the Kickass packing by a score of 6 to 2.5. Oles are team #2 in the semis, but it remains to be seen who their opponents will be. Good luck to the Oles in round 2

Oles win series 4-1

3 Hackers Vs. 6 Doctors

Another game with a team on the brink of elimination, the Doctors are staring down the barrel of a colt 45 in this one as well. Out of the gate, it looked like this one might have been in the Doctor’s favour with Vegas goalies putting up a donut. This shutout woke the Hackers up and this one turned into a shot for shot battle. The Doctors forwards put up a respectable 4 spot and the Hackers countered with a 4 of their own. This one was a photo finish with what looked like was going to be a Doctor victory in Overtime, but right before the final buzzer went in the third period, Hackers get a late assist from the sharks’ Karlsson. A few very close ones in this series, but somehow, the Hackers always found a way to edge out the Doctors. Hackers take this game with a score of 5 to 4.5 and end the series. The Doctors may have to change their names again as it seems as though they have run out of that voodoo which was once so potent. The Hackers will face the Foundation in Round 2. Good luck to them.

Hackers win series 4-1

4 Dutchies Vs. 5 Sting

In the only series where the ‘underdog’ has the edge on the favourite and is up in the series, the Sting look to take out the Oranjemen in prep mode for next season. As of late, the Sting have been putting up some large scores and seem to be getting hot at the right time. It’s not like the Dutchies haven’t been putting up some respectable scores either, it’s just that the whole series, the Sting seem to be finding a way to edge the Dutchies out. The Dutchies came out flying in this one with a respectable -1 from their Boston goaltenders and contributions from all of their young forward studs. Not to be outdone by the Dutchies though, the Sting’s young guns also come to play. Lead by Tkachuk and Sandin who’s been on fire as of late, the onslaught from the Sting could not be stopped. Even though the Dutchies put up another score that would beat most teams on most nights in the form of a solid 4, the Sting send a message to their opponents in round 2 and put up a huge 8. Dutchies are done for this year, but they’ve got a decent base for next, where they’re expected to genuinely compete for the title. The Sting close this one out and will face the Oles in the Semis. Good luck to the Sting.

It’s been a great playoffs so far and while 4 teams have been eliminated, they fought valiantly. Good luck next year gents!

Onto round 2 and to the next scorer.
